Secrets on how to avoid annoying fans: Wear a gorilla costume

Although you might not know who he is, Kimi Raikkonen is a very well known F-1 driver. And like any well known athlete, sometimes he has to resort to interesting tactics to go unnoticed by the populace.

Recently Kimi took part in a powerboat race in Hanko, Finland along with two of his friends. In a move that can only be described as bizarre, or a strange knockoff of the Planet of the Apes, all three came dressed up in gorilla costumes.

The trick worked, because although many of the spectators and press knew Raikkonen would be there, they were unable to recognize him. Not surprisingly, the group won best costumes, which seems like an odd prize at a powerboat race. But what do I know, I don't know how boat races work in Finland.

This isn't the first time Kimi has hidden behind a gorilla suit. In 2004 he celebrated a friends' bachelor party in a gorilla suit so he wouldn't be recognized by other people while the group was out on the town. Because everyone knows guys in gorilla suits at bachelor parties don't stand out at all. Not one bit.

I'm not sure what Kimi's fascination with gorillas is, but just to let him know, the Phoenix Suns' gorilla mascot Go is currently single.
