Time to show the world who's boss

Many of you may not be familiar with the International Federation of American Football and its World Cup. I mean let's be honest, why would you be familiar with it? It's only been around since 1999 (Japan is the two-time defending champion) and the U.S. has never competed in it.

That is until this year.

Today in Japan, in front of a crowd of just over 2000, the U.S. National Team laid the wood to South Korea 77-0 in their first game of the World Cup. Reports are fuzzy, but I think eight South Koreans were killed during the course of the game. The U.S. Team consists entirely of NCAA and NAIA players whom you've never heard of, meaning they're all still probably four times the size of the average South Korean player.

The next team the U.S. faces is Germany on July 12. The Panzers also annihilated the South Koreans 32-2 (and drew a larger crowd). I wouldn't be too worried though, the fact that South Korea got a safety on them confirms my suspicisions that the Germans are total pussies.

The rest of the competition isn't exactly fierce either. It includes European Champion Sweden, France and Japan. I'm not sure what's more impressive, the fact that the French actually had the guts to play our style of football or that Sweden is the European Champion.

And if you can find the time, or a Japanese TV network, the final will be July 15th.

Despite the bizarre fact that Japan is favored to three-peat (at least according to the Japanese media), I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict the U.S. to win the World Cup. Call me crazy, but I've just got a good feeling about their chances.
