Kenny Chesney catches passes from Drew Brees; Peyton Manning hangs himself

See that Kenny? That's the sideline. It's where you belong.

Today a 39 year-old 5'6" balding man had the chance to do something a 39 year-old 5'6" balding man should never have the chance to do - practice with an NFL team.

Country star Kenny Chesney had the opportunity to practice on Friday with the New Orleans Saints and catch passes from Drew Brees. Chesney's originally from Eastern Tennesee, which means there's no real reason he should be a Saints fan, except that he's apparently friends with Sean Payton.

Chesney was a wide receiver during his days at Gibbs High School in Luttrell, Tennessee, which in other words means he has no business being on an NFL field.

Since it's well known Peyton Manning and Chesney are, uh, rather close, I'd have to think Peyton can't be real pleased that Kenny caught passes from Brees. And by "not pleased" I mean "has probably already hung himself."

Drew Brees pulls a Johnny Cash

It's always nice when athletes do something to give back to the community. But it's a little weird when an athlete who's originally from Texas and went to Purdue shows up at a prison in Southern Utah to give advice on life. But that's what Drew Brees did.

He showed up at the Beaver County correctional facility and spoke with 124 inmates.

What on earth a pro football QB is even doing in a place like southern Utah is beyond me. Even if you put a gun to my head you couldn't get me to go to southern Utah. Brees isn't Mormon from what I know, and he certainly has no connections to anyone in the prison's area.

Beyond random, but a nice gesture. I'm sure all the inmates will take his advice, except for Pacman Jones.
