Shelley Duncan is incredibly stupid

The Red Sox and Yankees obviously have an intense rivalry. But I had no idea it could get quite this juvenile.

A 10-year old Red Sox fan named Griffin Whitman went to his first Red Sox/Yankees game on Friday and was thrilled when he was able to score Shelley Duncan's autograph on a note pad. But the autograph was a little different than what Whitman expected. It said: Red Sox Suck! Shelley Duncan.

Needless to say, Whitman's mom went apeshit.

“This is someone who wears the Yankee uniform and is on the payroll and should be setting an example for 10-year-olds,” she said.

Duncan of course said it was all in good fun.

“I thought I was back in middle school or high school, where you try to make a joke or say something funny, and you end up saying something that gets you in trouble,” Duncan said before Sunday’s game. “I try to be interactive with people, be funny, have a good time and have a laugh. It’s not always Yankees fans that have us sign stuff. I try to rile ’em up and be fun. I don’t expect anybody to make a big deal about it. Nobody ever has before.”

If Duncan thought this was as creative as what Vernon Wells did earlier this year, then he literally has no brain. I'd like to say something here like "Duncan should know better" but who am I kidding. It's not like I should be surprised Duncan is more juvenile than a 10 year-old kid. After all, he's a pro athlete.

Eating shit for Ohio State tickets

Ohio State definitely has some psychotic fans. I'm not sure when this video is from, but it's an idiot diving headfirst into a pool of shit to search for tickets to an Ohio State game that are buried somewhere at the bottom of the dark abyss - and don't worry, he gets a mouthful of the tasty stuff. Despite that minor complication, he takes just a bit too much joy in the spectacle, which confirms my belief that no one in their right mind should ever live in Ohio.

This is also reason #7,647 why the terrorists hate us.

I was pretty sure our team sucked

Vietnam's player of the year Phan Van Tai Em apparently doesn't think much of his national soccer team. Why else would he schedule his wedding on the same day as the quarter-final matchups of the Asian Cup?

That's right, Phan planned his wedding far in advance of the Asian Cup, and as luck would have it, Vietnam advanced to the knockout round of the Asian Cup for the first time in 47 years and the team's matchup with Iraq fell on the same day as his wedding.

So what did Phan do?

He left his team in the cold and went to his wedding. I think if you did this in Colombia you'd be shot on the spot.

"It's very disappointing that he has no confidence in his team, or he would not have arranged his wedding for the same day as the quarter-finals," head coach Alfred Reidl said.

Vietnam wound up losing to Iraq 2-0 on Saturday. Good for Iraq, I had no idea they had a soccer team.

As for Phan, me thinks this may upset his countrymen just a bit.
