If you're not from Omaha, and here's hoping you aren't, then you probably didn't know that the longtime home of the College World Series - Rosenblatt Stadium - may soon be demolished.
City leaders and the NCAA are considering moving the tournament to a new stadium that would be built downtown. Under that scenario, Rosenblatt probably would be demolished. The College World Series has been going on there since 1950.
Well, you know some people are obviously pissed about this, because that's what we do here in America, we get pissed about ridiculous shit.
A group called Save Rosenblatt has formed and you're not going to guess who they've chosen to appear in local and potentially national ads to help make people aware about this incredibly important national issue. Kevin Costner.
Yes, the same man who's name on a film instantly gaurantees a box office flop. You are doomed Rosenblatt. You might as well just blow yourself up now.
But don't think Costner is going into this half-assed, here's his quote about what he's going to do.
"If I can help, I'm very willing to. I'll be a soldier."
Regrettably he didn't say he'd be a "f*cking soldier" but I'm glad to see Kellen Winslow Jr. finally will have some much needed company.
People unfortunate enough to live in Omaha could begin to see the commercials as early as the second week in September, and Save Rosenblatt hopes to air the spots in even more cities. The group is looking at big college baseball cities such as Los Angeles, Austin and Houston.
So there you go folks, better clear out your fall schedule, you won't want to miss TV this great.
