This was a fantastic game, but unfortunately Nash getting gashed in the nose took him out for the most crucial possesions of the game. That absolutely killed the Suns, because Nash is one of the most clutch guys in the league. Meanwhile, it's becoming evident that Duncan is going to be a huge problem for the Suns this series, even though Amare played him pretty well for most of the game. The same is true with Parker, he's going to be almost impossible to contain.
I'd also like to say that, even though we're pulling for the Suns, this was a horribly officiated game on both sides. No one benefitted, it was just a terribly reffed game, period.
That said, I think this was a huge wakeup game for the Suns, rather than any kind of knockout punch. And if you don't think Nash is pissed as hell about what happened, you're definitely kidding yourself. The Suns will come back in force in Game 2 - it's definitely payback time. This Game 1 will force them to dig deep and answer the bell.
I also expect Phoenix to steal a game in San Antonio, since this series looks like either team could win any night on the opponent's floor. But it's clear that this is going to be one tough series that I still think will go the distance. And if there is a basketball God, he won't let the Spurs advance.
Our pick stays as is - Suns in 7
