After reading another article on ESPN blaming the Lakers' lack of success over the last 5 years on everything except Kobe, here's who Kobe would be in a Fortune 500 company. He would join the company as a 26 year old Harvard MBA who the Board of Directors love. The Board would convince their once-in-a-generation CEO (who single-handedly took the company to the #1 spot on the Fortune 500 list for 3 straight years) to groom the new guy as his replacement at the expense of his own public image. Meanwhile, everyone else in the organization hates the new guy because he's arrogant, selfish, and uses everyone to make himself look better. At the same time, he's sexually harassing all the female employees and had a questionable hook-up at an office party even though he's married.
Then, when he threatens to quit the company and go across town to their rival, the Board dumps their CEO (Shaq), removes the Chairman of the Board (Phil Jackson) by giving him a powerless but honorary title, and then installs the young guy as their CEO. Then, everyone, except people who know this guy, are shocked when for the next 5 years the company starts slipping worse and worse. The stock is plummetting and people start blaming everyone except the new CEO... so in the summer they start firing everyone else thinking that will make a difference. Guess what? It won't because nobody is ever going to be motivated working for a selfish, overhyped a-hole no matter who you bring in. So, Lakers fans, enjoy the rest of the Kobe Era because it ain't gonna be pretty!
