LeBron could have been the next Antonio Gates

This was dug up by The Fanhouse recently. From some Cavs game earlier this season they pulled up a few old clips of LeBron playing high school football. And he was a receiver. Yikes. Imagine throwing the ball to a 6'8" receiver with a 40+ inch vertical who's being marked by a 5'10" cornerback. Man, I'd call that play "the instant touchdown" and run it all day.

He was being recruited for football by schools such as USC, The U and Michigan - to name a few. So needless to say, the guy's a pretty good athlete.

Can't really fault him for choosing basketball, but it would have been pretty interesting to see him on the football field.
